Vineyard - St. Vincent

Harding Homegrown has a long history as one of the first established vineyards to exist in the Grand Valley. When we moved in, the entire property was planted in old Italian and Spanish varietals. A fast, hard freeze in October 2020 caused many of the existing vines to split their trunks. As a result, we made the hard decision to pull all the existing vinifera, but decided to leave a quarter acre of St. Vincent being a cold-hardy hybrid varietal that survived the October storm.

The same daily temperature swing and microclimate characteristics of the valley that create sweet Palisade peaches, also create incredible grapes and of course - wines. Harding Homegrown has supplied our St. Vincent grapes to Storm Cellar, Periphery Cellars and Plum Creek wineries. Their winemakers have made delicious Pet Nat and still Rose blends including some award winning titles.
